Royal Palace of Caserta: First we will visit this spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the King of Naples, Charles of Bourbon and designed by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli in 1752.
Of all the royal residences inspired by the Palace of Versailles, the Palace of Caserta is the one that bears the greatest resemblance to the original model. The Baroque style royal palace has more than 40 monumental rooms completely decorated with frescoes.
The garden, a typical example of the baroque extension of formal vistas, was also inspired by the park of Versailles. You will admire this beautiful park that stretches for 2 miles with its fountains, the Great waterfall and majestic gardens.
Lunch: We will have our lunch at Rossopomodoro, a Naples-style restaurant where you can take your pick from a wide-ranging menu of Italian food, from tricolore salads to piping hot pizza and pasta dishes and refreshing desserts like gelati and tiramisu.
Shopping: In the afternoon, we will visit La Reggia Designer Outlet — a shopping paradise with more than 130 stores where you can find your favourite labels with price reductions of up to 70%.
La Reggia Designer Outlet provides a wide range of stores, from iconic fashion brands like Prada, Valentino, Versace, Roberto Cavalli and Cesare Paciotti to athletic labels, like Nike, Reebok and Adidas, excellence of Neapolitan tailoring as Kiton and Isaia and high-street favourites, like Hugo Boss, Polo Ralph Lauren, Levi’s, Guess and Timberland.
Bonus: If you wish, we can finish our tour by visiting one more interesting place. Just 20 kilometres from the Designer Outlet there is Casertavecchia — an enchanting village of Lombard origins that is one of the secret gems of the region. Its Duomo, its castle and its Siculo-Norman roads offer a glimpse into a fascinating and unique history.
